I was fortunate to work with Miss Johnnie at the Department of Revenue for many, many years. No matter what was going on or what crisis we were in, she could always make me laugh. There has never been a kinder, more generous woman than our Miss Johnnie. Heaven now has a bright and wonderful shining spirit. Kathy Smith

Sending out my love to aunt Johnnie we had some good laughs on the Mid-Cumberland van. Times she would ride all the way to Carthage with me so I wouldn't have to go alone. She would ride with me in my own private vehicle if I was going to the right place! (lol) she will forever live in my memories. Love her niece Tonya!

Evelyn & family I loved Johnnie she took care of me when I first starting riding the Trail way bus from Nashville to come home from TSU. She asked what is your name? Who are your people? You look scared, and quit looking like that down here. Come on I show you what to do. Come sit by me. This bus is going Watertown right by your house and I will tell Albert Duncan to let you off right in front of your house you hear me? I said yes mam. Don't said yes mam I ain't that old and laugh and kept on smoking and from then on whenever I went home I looked for Johnnie and sit with her. Sometimes I would see Evelyn not like I would Johnnie good people these two. She will be missed. Evelyn you and the family have Lindon and mine condolences, and we will continue to pray your strength in the Lord. Charles Lindon Smith & Jeannette Vantrease-Smith
