Obituary For Mary Boyce

Mrs. Mary Boyce departed this life for her eternal rest on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born on October 4, 1926 in Brown Summit, NC to the late Jessie Lawrence Jordan and the late Annie Maybell Reid Jordan.

Mrs. Boyce was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingstown where she previously served as an usher and was the oldest mother of the church. She loved God and prayed constantly. Not only was she a loving mother to her children and many grandchildren, but also a loving mother figure to countless others of the Macedonia Church Rd. community of Kingstown.

In addition to her work as an excellent homemaker, Mrs. Boyce also worked at Beam’s Nursing Home for 16 years before retiring. Her pastimes included planting flowers, gardening and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Boyce, II; two brothers, Levi Jordan and Woodrow Jordan; three sisters, Bert Jordan, Roberta Ann Jordan and Barbara Ann Jordan.

She leaves to cherish her memory to her children, Annie Spikes and Daniel Boyce, III both of Kingstown, NC, Linda Ross of Danville, VA, Darlene Boyce of Gastonia, NC, Lyvonne Addison of Kingstown, Robert Lewis Boyce (Tabitha) of Boiling Springs, NC and Christopher Lee Boyce (Tina) of Albany, NY; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special friend, Laura Cathy of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Boyce will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingstown, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will take place at church cemetery.
