Bishop Taylor accepted Christ at an early age. He became Pastor of Johnson’s Chapel Holiness Church in 1999. He was later elevated to Bishop. He trusted God completely and listened daily for God’s instructions. He was selfless, lived to please God and tried to allow God to order his steps. He was a great example of a man that followed God, and there is no doubt his legacy followed him to Heaven.
Bishop Taylor attended the public schools of Anson County. After graduating from Bowman Senior High in 1975, he matriculated to Barber-Scotia College in Concord, NC where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1979.
Bishop Taylor was always a hardworking and dedicated man. He was employed by Mr. Charlie Pigg as a teenager and spent many years working as a manager at McDonald’s and at Smith’s Funeral Home. In December, 2019, Bishop retired after 30 years of dedicated service to Tyson Foods.
Bishop Taylor earned many awards and accolades over the years for his academics and his devotion to God.
