Obituary For Sarah E. Carter

Sarah E. Carter, 83, of Eden, NC died October 12,2021. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Perry- Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at St. John United Methodist Church, Eden, NC. The burial will follow at Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Sarah Ray Carter, daughter of the late Haywood and Canary Thompson was born March 22, 1938, in Leaksville, NC. She took flight and made her peaceful farewell journey to be with Lord in her heavenly home on October 12, 2021.

Sarah was graduate of Douglass High School, where she enjoyed performing in the high school band. Her occupations were being a textile and custodian worker. She was a faithful member at Robinson Memorial United Holy Church, Eden, NC later in her Christian walk she moved her membership to St. John United Methodist Church, Eden, NC where she was a faithful, committed member and song on the church choir until she transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home to rest in perfect peace.

Sarah was a loving devoted Mother, an adoring caring grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. Singing and planting beautiful flowers with her green thumb was her passion. Sarah had a heart of gold always eager to take care and help someone. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, two sons, two sisters and two brothers.

Her loving memories will live on in those who loved her: daughter; Janice Webster (Donald), five sons; Corinthus Ray (Brenda), Timothy Ray, David Ray all of Eden, NC, Micheal Ray (Gail) of Settle Washington, Keith Ray of Bodenwerder, Germany. Thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, sister; Elsie Mock (French) of Columbus, OH, two goddaughters; Hallie Thompson and Alice Hairston, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
