In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Stockton, and Estella Niblett, special friend Michael Reynolds, and her great grandparents, Elder Josh and Eva Lowe Hairston.
Loretta was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church (DOC). She graduated from Laurel Park High School class of 1974. Loretta was a caregiver for over 50 years. She worked at Ryan´s Restaurant for many years and Jerrys Pizza as a part-time employee where she went on trips with them as a family. She worked private duty for Pete Bluhm for over five years. She provided care to children on Mulberry (doctor´s children). She then continues to work Trinity Mission prior to her becoming disabled.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Sherikita Long of Ridgeway, VA, one granddaughter, Dha´Karri Long of Ridgeway, VA, three sisters, Mary McAllister of Greensboro, NC, Connie Jones, and Alanna Mitchell both of Martinsville, VA, three brothers, Robert Long, Jr., Anthony Long, Sr. and Minister Earnest Long all of Martinsville, VA, two aunts, Barbara Martin of Bluefield, VA, and Annie Bell Morrison of Martinsville, VA, one uncle, James Elston of Roanoke, VA, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Reverend Eugene Reynolds. Burial will follow at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Spencer, VA. A public viewing will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with CDC guidelines a face covering, and social distancing is required. Family and friends will be received at the home, 339 Mulberry Rd, Ridgeway, VA 24148 and at the home of Earnest Long, 1118 Highland St, Martinsville, VA 24112. We ask that all COVID-19 guidelines are followed.
