Obituary For Deacon Calvin Brown 77

1 Corinthians 15:55-56: “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.”

When John Quincy Adams was eighty years old, a friend said, “How is John Quincy Adams?”

He replied, “John Quincy Adams himself is very well, thank you; but the house he lives in is sadly dilapidated. It is tottering on its foundations. The walls are badly shattered, and the roof is worn. The building trembles with every wind. And I think that John Quincy Adams will have to move out of it before long. But he himself is very well.”

On February 25, 1944, God planted a treasured gift into the lives of the late Mr. & Mrs Brown - That of Deacon Calvin Brown. This initial chapter of life was filled with joyous memories with his family, his church family and hard work.

Just between him and the God he believed and served, on Friday, October 15, 2021 Deacon Calvin Brown may have whispered: And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight The clouds be rolled back as a scroll The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend Even so, it is well with my soul!

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day. Well done, Calvin, thou good and faithful servant.

Deacon Brown’s life will be celebrated and honored by his family members and friends on Saturday, October 30, 2021from the Deliverance Center Church at 12’Noon - Deacon Brown will be laid to rest in the Southview Cemetery.
