Mrs. Queen Brooks, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed Friday, October 22, 2021 in Phenix City, AL.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Peter A.M.E Church (New Cemetery) with Rev. Thomas Fortson, officiating. Visitation is Monday November 1, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Mrs. Queen was born on February 23, 1944 in Seale, AL to the late Ralph and Emma Dixon Bellamy.

She departed this life on October 22, 2021 at Canterbury Nursing Facility in Phenix City, AL under the great care of Columbus Hospice of Columbus, GA.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Seale, AL. She served her church in many positions, such as YPD Director, choir president, usher board, steward, stewardess, church school teacher, lay president, and much more. She truly loved the Lord and doing the Lord’s work.

She married the late Collin L. Brooks of Columbus, GA. She loved and care for him until he passed on October 21, 1990.

She held various jobs in her lifetime but she was very proud of her position at Columbus State University where she cooked and served students each day.

Other than her spouse and parents, she was proceeded in death by her stillborn child; two sisters, Cora (Robert) McCoy and Ada Hammond and two brothers, Henry Bellamy and Johnny Bellamy.

She leaves to cherish her memories two loving and devoted daughters/nieces, Denise Bellamy of Smith Station, AL and Angela Johnson of Phenix City, AL; one son/nephew, James (Wanda) McCoy of Columbus, GA; three sisters, Emma Davis and Rosie (Tommie) Morgan both of Phenix City, AL and Mary (Freddie) Carter of Columbus, GA; one brother, Otis (Maggie) Bellamy, Sr. of Phenix City, AL; four sister-in-laws, Betty Bellamy and Elizabeth Bellamy both of Seale, AL, Inez Moses of Phenix City, AL, and Fannie Thomas of Detroit, MI; five granny babies, Kaylynn McCoy, Jaylin Johnson, JaCobi Johnson, Ameir Bellamy and Aiden Bellamy; a special friend, Charles Brock and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
