The Life and Legacy of Robert James Clark On Saturday, October 23rd 2021 at 4:24a.m., there was an open gate at the end of the road, which each must go alone; and in the light we cannot see, “Our Father” claims His own. “Beyond the gate our love one finds Joy and Rest, where there is comfort in the thought that our loving God knows best.” Robert James Clark was born on July 20th, 1945 in Shelby, Mississippi. He was the eldest of seven children of the Late Mr. and Mrs. James and Larine H. Clark. Robert attended Broad Street High School in Bolivar County, Mississippi. After high school Robert relocated to Belle Glade, FL. Where he met and married the love of his life, The Lovely Claudette Simmons Clark for 59 years, 6 months and 2 days before he was called home. In this union, Three Beautiful Children were born. Early on, Robert fellowshipped and became a member of Youth Crusade Deliverance Church, Bishop Lee A. Humprey of Belle Glade, FL. Along with New Zion Holiness Church, Prophet Charles Moorer of Belle Glade, FL. Robert later, matriculated to Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with his wife under the leadership Moderator Reverend Lionel F. Camel. Employment: Eagle Army and Navy Discount Store as Manager during the 60’s and 70’s, in Belle Glade. FL. Also, Glades Mercantile Furniture Company as Store Credit Manager in Belle Glade, FL. Then off to Wilkinson and Cooper Produce Inc. in Belle Glade as Supervisor until his retirement in 2009. Robert, leaves those who will love him eternally and cherish his adored memories are his loving and devoted wife Claudette S. Clark. One Son: Cornelius L. Clark Sr. Two Daughters: Robin (Danavon) Braham and Pamela D. Clark. One Adopted Son: Tim (Rose) Sims (Fort Lauderdale, FL.) Grands: Cornelius L. Clark Jr. (West Palm Beach, FL.) Lavelle Clark, Ge’Toya Hessing (Okeechobee, FL.) Antonio (Tia) Thomas (Covington, GA.) Greg Mitchell Jr., John (Lonnie) Odom Jr. (Orlando, FL.) Santonio (Farah) Thomas, B.J Smith, Tremaine Knight, Jamaal Payne and Jermel Payne (Atlanta, GA.) Ashton Fletcher, Johnny (Suzy) Young. Great Grands: Lanaishja Clark, Cataleya Clark, Dejwon Brown, Selena Glinton and Jaquorian Lawerance. God Children: Micheal Woodson, Le’Andre (Korrie) Fletcher (St. Petersburg, FL.) Anaya Brown and Rashaad Brown. Five Sisters: Queen E. Allen (West Palm Beach, FL.), Carol (Roy) Grave, Mary (Sam) Tucker, Mary Ann Clark, all of Texas. Diana Clark (Who proceeded in his death), Windell Clark (Killeen, Texas) Marvin Clark (Who proceeded in his death). Jimmy Lee Clark (Chicago, Ill.) and James Clark (Who proceeded in his death). Two Brother In Laws; Lewis Simmons and Vandie Brown (Chicago, Ill.). Two Sister In Laws: Dorothy Simmons (Orlando, FL.) and Verlene Roberts (Clewiston, FL.). Special Daughters: Ann Plummer and Valirie Torrivilla.
