Obituary For Mr. Noel F. Khalil

Funeral rites for Noel F. Khalil will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at St. Philip A.M.E. Church, 240 Candler Road, S.E., Atlanta. Dr. William D. Watley, host Pastor . Rev. Kenneth L. Alexander, Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church North (Atlanta) officiant and eulogist. Rev. J. Scott Copeland will preside.

The Khalil family will be present as the body lies in state (no viewing) one hour before the service. (CDC COVID-19 guidelines for temperature checks, masks, and social distances will be observed.)

Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive, S.W., Atlanta.

A native New Yorker, Noel Khalil attended high school in The Bronx and graduated Bronx Community College (Cum Laude). Noel also earned degrees from University of Rochester (NY), Georgia Institute of Technology, and Florida State University’s College of Law.

Noel Khalil’s distinct achievements and contributions primarily as a pioneering Founder, Principal, Chairman, and CEO of Columbia Residential, LLC, are legendary. Noel’s legacies are remarkable and legendary as he and his business and teams developed thousands of mixed-income, affordable, and market rate housing units that transformed many communities in Atlanta and other metropolitan areas.

Noel Khalil was a God fearing , fun loving , devoted patriarch. Those who cherish his memory include: children Anwar (Barbara), Mikal (Crystal), Jessica, Amilcar and Zoe; grandchildren Tariq, Jasmine, Sakoya, Cameron, Alexia, Trejon, Petey, Sailor, Michael, Malik, Jasmine, and Tyrique; great-grandchildren Ali, Hendrix, Marley, Trinity, Olivia, and Makaila; sisters, Madge Monosiet and Patricia ‘Patti’ Sheppard; niece, Samantha and nephews Christopher and George. ; other loving family members, business partners, colleagues, many friends.

He would periodically make presentations to the Planning and Development Committee of the Atlanta City Council. Mr. Khalil routinely provided his vision and requested policy support for affordable housing for Senior Citizens. His contributions to enhancing the quality of life for our citizens, communities and overall societal well being will be forever appreciated.
