Obituary For Mr. Marvin Hughes Marsh

Marvin Hughes Marsh was born October 17, 1955 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Jahue and Mary Marsh. He was called to glory on Monday, October 25, 2021.

He was educated in the public schools of Anson County and graduated from Bowman Sr. High School, Class of 1973.

He worked at Columbus McKinnon for 8 years until his health declined. He was a member of Sandy Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, Morven, NC.

“Pop” had a love for music. He was the life of the party. An educated man. A great genuine person. A spiritual man and a believer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jahue; mother, Mary; and brother, Michael.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Ruth Marsh of Morven, NC; one daughter, Iesha “Pumpkin” Johnson; two sons, Raheem Williams and Rahshawn Smith both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three step-children, Alicia (Corey) Price of Hartsville, South Carolina; Ennis Phillips Jr. of McBee, South Carolina and Nolia Phillips of McBee, South Carolina; multiple grand and great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Diane McDougal of McBee, South Carolina, Gloria McDougal of McBee, South Carolina, Keesha (Ronnie) Brown of Darlington, South Carolina and Lisa (Walter) McDougal of Hartsville, South Carolina; one god-daughter, Keyata (Darrius) Reed of Bishopville, South Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Services for Mr. Marsh will be on Saturday, October 30, 2021, 4:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.

The public viewing for Mr. Marsh will be on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4:30-6:00pm at Smith Funeral Home, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.

Face Mask/Coverings are REQUIRED to be worn at all times during the service and viewing for the safety of the Marsh Family and our staff.
