Doris J. Green, 73, of Phenix City, AL passed Friday, October 29, 2021 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Teresa Stalling-Brundidge, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Doris Jean Green was born October 29, 1948 in Lee County, AL to the late John Peabody, Jr. and the late Marie Peabody.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Later she joined Friendship Baptist Church where she served as Church Treasurer, kitchen manager and was faithful in her service until her health prevented her to do so.

Affectionately known as "Bobbie" Mrs. Green attended Wachoochee High School in Salem, AL. She was employed at Swift Spinning Mill and later retired from the Phenix City School System.

Mrs. Green departed her life on October 29, 2021 at St. Francis Emory Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Peabody, Jr. and Marie Peabody; two sisters, Mona Lisa and Margaret Peabody.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, James Green of Phenix City, AL; five children, Rita Peabody-Jordan, Wanda Peabody (Joseph) Shanks, Lisa Green, Chevy Green all of Phenix City, AL and Clay (Natasha) Peabody of Columbus, GA; five sisters, Earlene ( Lawerence) Cooper of Columbus, GA, Delphine Tolbert, Mae Pearl Coleman both of Phenix City, AL, Johnnie Mae Peabody of Cleveland, OH and Sarah Lee Greathouse of Charleston, SC; brother, Willie Frank (Prince Eve) Patterson of Crawford, AL; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
