Obituary For Andrew "Rabbit" Otey, Jr.

Andrew "Rabbit" Otey Jr. life came to an end on Monday November 1, 2021 at the age of 73 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee. Mr. Otey was born on May 5, 1948 in Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee to the parents of Betty Lurena Carter and Andrew Otey. . Mr. Otey leaves to cherish his many memories his wife, Mary Otey; children, Juddone (Tuvara) Lee, Angelia Lee, Shawn Otey, Demetrius (Shareta) Wade, Aunsel McLemore, Cedric McLemore, Tony McLemore, Antonio McLemore, Laneshia McLemore and Shaniqua (Marvin) Smith; aunts, uncles and a host of cousins other relatives, and friends.

*** Due to COVID-19. In order to enter the funeral home for viewing you MUST have on a mask. You are responsible for supplying your own masks. ***

Mr. Otey will lie in state on Friday, November 12 , 2021 from 12 until 5 at the funeral home.

Visitation with family Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11 until 12 at Lynn Creek Tabernacle Church, 117 Fairground Street, with funeral to follow. Elder Ronald Caldwell, officiating and Elder Quentin Bush eulogist.

Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Rabbit Otey....words would never be enough to describe the blessed times (years) we spent in Franklin and you in Shelbyville. The traveling in bikes and the Double -Dutch Bus Van. I've known Rabbit since I was a child... Ms. Lurena worked in the Restaurant next door to the Rock building we lived in, which later became the Soul House. Nobody could make a hamburger like her! Last time I seen her was when cooked in Ms. Lena's old place. And nobody could lay tile like Mr. Andrew!! Take Your Rest Rabbit...😇🌹 You're going home
