Frances L. Iles, 83, of Paxton St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, October 29, 2021 in the peace and love of our home. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Corene (Bullock) Miller and Barney Miller, received her formal education in the Harrisburg Public School District and during her working career, she was employed by Hershey Entertainment, from where she retired with more than 20 years of service. Having received Christ later in life, Frances was a member of Unity Fellowship Church Of God In Christ in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. One of her favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 17:14. On Tuesday, August 10, 1982, she united in Holy Matrimony with the late James R. Iles after being together several years. In the community, Frances worked with county officials at the voting polls for many years. Additionally, she donated to the Habitat program and other youth programs in the community. In her leisure, she loved to read books and play spades with family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking “fresh from the garden” beans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Baltimore; her sons, Swanson “Socks” Brown, Darrell Coleman, Edward R. Coleman and James Coleman III; her daughters, Linda Landrum Glasgow and Adrieene R. Ritter; her grandson, Tarajay Davis and her granddaughter, Sodea Ann Brown. To cherish precious memories of her are her children, Susan Coleman of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Angela Coleman of San Francisco, California; her aunt, Gwendolyn Brooks; her uncle Raymond Bullock, Sr.; her daughters-in-law, Sharon “Sherri” Brown, Annette Coleman, Yolanda Coleman and Delores C. McArthur; her son-in-law, Timothy Ritter and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Frances’ life will be celebrated on Friday, November 5 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.
