The pilgrimage of life for Margaret Searey Brown began in Rockingham County, North Carolina on February 24, 1944. She was the daughter of the late George Mitchell and Margaret Searey. On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Memory Care of Triad in Kernersville NC she soared to new heights when joined the circle of angels.
As a lifelong resident of Madison/Mayodan, she attended the local public schools and was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church of Madison, NC where she faithfully served on the Usher board, Nurses board, Hospitality board, Pastors Aid and Missionary board. She was formerly employed by Macfield/Unifi Industries and Rouses Group Home until her health began to decline. “Bell” as she was affectionately referred to by family and close friends, conveyed a peaceful countenance and humble spirit of love and concern for others. Her amazing spirit touched many through her journey of life and leaves a profound legacy for her family and community to forever cherish. To God Be the Glory for Doing All Exceedingly and Abundantly Well!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Maurice “Wesley” brown, daughter Tracy Jones, and sister Hattie Mae (Lance).
The bonds of family by which she was identified in life, of whom she will be fondly remembered in the hereafter, include: daughters , Shelby Kellam (Bishop Reginald B. Kellam), and Shirelle Brown; grandchildren, Erika Patterson (T.C.), Zack Kellam, Arrington Kellam (Brandi), Kate’Lynne Jones, Peyton Callaham, Gaige Callaham and Kymani Alexander; great-grandchildren, Ma’Kayla Harris, Ma’kahi McCollum, Zaiden Kellam, Khris’Lynne Warren, Ma;Karhi Turner, and Bella Kellam: loving siblings, George Mitchell (Pauline), James Mitchell (Dorothy), Selvester Mitchell, Alfonzo Mitchell, Catherine King (Bronson) and Gloria Barber (Andy). Special friends, Margie Watt, Addie Martin, and Judith McCollum: A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
