Obituary For Rev. William Hicks

Rev. William Hicks was born on February 4, 1948 in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia to the late Mr. J. B. Hicks and the late Mrs. Mary Hicks. He received his education in the Lamar County School System and attended Booker High School. After high school, he migrated to Atlanta where he became employed with Delta Airlines, and later, the City of Douglasville. William gave his life to Christ in his thirties. He attended Sardis Missionary Baptist Church as a dedicated member and fulfilled many leadership roles in the church. He was well received and liked by all, as he had a loving spirit and giving heart, which was a true testament to the love that he had for the Lord. William was preceded in death by both parents, six brothers and four sisters. On Sunday, November 7, 2021, the Lord called William’s name. He answered and transitioned to his eternal resting place. William leaves to mourn his death his two sons, William (Amanda) Hicks and Richard (Annette) Hicks; three sisters, Lillian Aldridge, Martha (Ollie) Labord, and Gladys (John) Harp; two brothers, Robert (Cochetta) Hicks and Steverson (Debra) Hicks; and a host of stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

Graveside Service were held Saturday, November 13, 2021 Sardis Missionary Baptist Church Highway 341 South - Barnesville, GA
