Obituary For Lucille Irene McElhaney

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Lucille Irene McElhaney, of Jackson, Georgia will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, 1:00p.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 709 S. Mulberry Street, Jackson. Remains will be placed in-state at 11:30a.m. Reverend Kevin Gibbs Pastor, Officiant, Reverend Eugene Leonard Sr., Eulogist. Interment Jackson City Cemetery, 485 W College Dr, Jackson, GA 30233.

Public viewing will be held at the Henderson Funeral Services on Friday, November 19, 2021, 12:00 noon until 6:00p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. until 6:00p.m.

Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence on the day of the service at 12:00 noon.

Lucille Irene McElhaney leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband Charles E. McElhaney, five daughters, Felecia Murray (Clarence), Tameka Usher (Fred), Lashonda McElhaney, Tammy McElhaney (Isaac), Tamara Gates (Toshiro): six grandchildren, Camryn Murray, Mykayla Usher, Ahmaud Grier, Jaedeon Gates, Hailie Banks, and Geronimo Banks; one great grandchild, Chavis Murray; Seven Sisters, Mildred Johnson (Horice), Vivian Akins (George), Linda Ingram (Lamar), Lucy Cunningham (Calvin), Willie Mae Ambles (Terry), Gloria Goodman (Michael), Shirley Stewart (Carlton), Three Brothers, Jerry Childs, Morris Childs, and Jonnie Childs; One aunt, Winne Mae Jenkins, God Children, Taylor Watts, Amber Watts, Darrien Cleveland, Jarius Cleveland, and Krysten Cleveland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I met Mrs. Lucille and the rest of her siblings years ago when her sister Lucy Childs Cunnigham married my cousin Calvin Cunnigham . She was always so sweet and full of life anytime I saw her, I was definitely praying for a different outcome but god had other plans for her. Mrs. Lucille was the mom of my best friends Tammy & Tamera, in high school. She was definitely one of a kind and I had so much respect for her, as if she was my mom and she treated me like her own. All the softball and basketball games, going over to the their house for projects or just hanging out, she made me feel so welcome. There wasn't too many places my parents would let me go but the McElhaney's was a place I could visit with no worries. To Daddy Mac & the girls, I am so sorry to hear of you all's loss.
