Reverend Ruben Alfred Peed, 93, of 1081 Peedtown Road, Aurora died Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, NC.

Public viewing hours are 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday at Oscar's Mortuary.

His service is 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at New Growth Unlimited Ministries, 1020 Peed Town Road. The interment will follow at Whitehurst Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Morris, Havelock, Linda Tucker, Washinton, NC, Clarine Peed, Rocky Mount, NC, Johnnie Speight, Edward, NC, Joanne Smith, Blounts Creek, NC, Carolyn Smith, Durham, NC, Lucy Robinson, Aurora, NC, Charlotte Holland, Alamogordo, NM; thirty grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

Masks are required and social distancing followed.

Mr. Peed was a loving man who cared about everyone. Our relationship goes back to 1963 as we talked about right and wrong; I was a student at S W Snowden High School and listened to his counseling. We remained friends over the years and talked often. If you visited him, he would cook and loved to share stories over a meal. Most recently, we talked on the phone and he reminded me to continue to trust God. An amazing man of God. He will be missed. I offer condolences to the Family. J. Moore Sims

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Rubens passing. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Peed family.
