Obituary For Keith Michael Gonzalez

Keith Michael Gonzalez, 55, a community hero, died November 14, 2021. He was born in El Paso, TX on August 26, 1966.

Keith was a devoted 911 Dispatcher with SCRDA for the last 7 years, nobly serving the citizens of Sierra County. He was dedicated to his community and to his family- always there to help from behind the scenes, never wanting to draw attention to himself. In his spare time, he was an avid coin collector, and could often be found playing computer games with his best bud, Nathan. He was a member of the Desert Springs Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge #2050. Keith will forever be remembered for his infectious laugh, witty sense of humor and kind spirit.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Smith and her husband, Tom; his nephew, Nathan Smith; and his work family- including SCRDA, local law enforcement, EMS, and county fire departments. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Gonzalez.

A Memorial Service will be held in Keith’s honor on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Desert Springs Lutheran Church (1685 Caballo Road Truth or Consequences, NM 87901).

The family will be receiving friends and family for a reception at the Moose Lodge #2050 following the memorial service.
