Obituary For Flora Mae Jennings

Mrs. Flora Mae Jennings, 77, of Columbus, GA passed Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Pryce Battle, pastor and Rev. Willie L. Ford, eulogist.

Mrs. Flora Mae Jennings was born on November 1, 1944 in Lee County, Alabama to the late K.C.Williams and the late Erie Mae Williams Passmore. She departed this life on November 17, 2021. Mrs. Jennings was converted to Christianity at an early age and joined the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and lived a life reflective of that love. She was a graduate of Wacoochee High School. Mrs. Jennings worked in housekeeping for many years, she also worked at Dillard’s department store at Peach Tree Mall. Flora married Mr. Edward Jennings in 1973 and from that union she had one child, Edward Jennings Jr.. She moved with her husband to Houston, Texas and after many years she returned to Columbus, Georgia. Upon her return she joined New Beginning Move of God Deliverance Tabernacle Church of Columbus, Georgia where she served until her health began to fail. She loved her church and specifically loved singing praises to the Lord. She truly loved the Lord, her family and grandchildren with all of her heart. Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her mother, Erie Mae Passmore, her stepfather, Robert Passmore Sr., four sisters, Ocie Pearl Jones, Mary Crawford, Ruby Mott, Rosa Smith, and one brother, Edward Williams. Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Edward Jennings Sr. of Columbus, Georgia, her son, Edward Jennings Jr. (Brittany) of Mobile, Alabama, two brothers, Jessie Passmore of Smith, Alabama, Robert Passmore Jr. (Dondrea) of Kansas City, Missouri, one sister, Frances Person (Joseph Jr.) of Olathe, Kansas, three grandchildren, Imani Michelle, Naomi Nicole, and Zora Aliza, her devoted nieces who helped care for her for many years, Shearnell Smith, Sheryl Smith, and Teresa Duncan along with a host of many other nieces,nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

To be absent with the body is to be present with the Lord rest in peace my sister I will miss you dearly I will always remember when you came to visit me and the prayer you prayed for me I love you always. To the family I am truly sorry for your loss she will be truly missed.
