Obituary For Norris Lamar Manns

Norris Lamar Manns, 54, of Eagle Lane, Martinsville, VA, departed from this life Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Sovah Hospital of Martinsville. He was born in Martinsville, VA on August 22, 1967 to Joe L. Barner and Mary A. Manns Barner.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Abraham Barner and Alberta Menfee and maternal grandparents, Hubert Thomas and Jessie M. Manns.

Norris was a member of Refuge Temple Ministries He graduated from George Washington Carver High School, class of 1986.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Joe L. Barner and Mary A. Manns Barner, three sisters, Rhonda Manns of Greensboro, NC, Carla Manns of Martinsville, VA, and Courtnee Hughes (Anthony) of Winston Salem, NC, three nephews, Jovan Manns of Abingdon, VA, Willie Price of Collinsville, VA, and Isaiah Hughes of Winston Salem, NC, one niece, Terica Winchester of Greensboro, NC, one great nephew, Jordan Winchester of Greensboro, NC, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Elder Alan Preston, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. A public viewing will be held Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with CDC guidelines a face covering and social distancing is required.
