Obituary For Douglas Wade

Douglas Leroy Wade passed away peacefully on Monday; November 15, 2021 at Robert Johnson House, Dallas, DC. He was born in Kings Mountain, NC. Douglas was the son of the late Roy Wade and the late Mary Lou Allison Wade.

Douglas retired from Firestone in Gastonia, NC. Upon retirement, he enjoyed landscaping and taking care of his grandkids, nieces and nephews. Douglas was the glue that keep the family together and his funny and outgoing personality never allowed him to meet a stranger.

Douglas was preceded in death by his mother: Mary Lou Allison Wade, his father: Roy Wade, his grandson: Chancellor Isaiah Thomas, his brother: Jimmy Wade, his sisters: Ethel Wade Adams and Connie Hardy.

Left to cherish fond memories are sons: Jason Wade (Annika) of Charlotte, NC and Gary Marshall Wade of Ranlo, NC; daughter: Aissa Jimson of Charlotte, NC; sisters: Anne Wade of Gastonia, NC, Sharon Crawford of Charlotte, NC and Ollie Wade Johnson (Joe) of Kansas; brother: Donald (Robin) of Gastonia, NC; brother-in-law: Charles Hardy; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; aunts: Ola Mae Hopper of Gastonia, NC; Maryann Chisholm of Charlotte, NC and Nancy Bell of Kings Mountain, NC; special friend: “Pee Wee” and a host of aunts, nieces, other relatives and special friends: Mike McClain, Bo, Roxanne Rankin, and Scott Rankin.

Viewing at the funeral home on Friday; November 26, 2021 from 3 until 6

Funeral service on Saturday; November 27, 2021 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with visitation 30 minutes before the service
