Obituary For Mary Lee Fleming Taylor

Lake City, SC

Mary Lee Fleming Taylor, a daughter of the late Eugene Fleming Sr. and Dorothy McFadden Fleming was born on October 15, 1953 in New Zion, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Abraham Fleming Sr. and Eugene Fleming Jr.

She was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County and a 1972 graduate of Cades High School. She furthered her education at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina and Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. Mary Lee had various employers over the years, but she favored her work as a Day Care Provider. She especially loved teaching her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

In her youth, she accepted Christ and became a member of Howard Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She was united in holy matrimony to Julius Taylor. This union was blessed with a daughter. Her memory will always be cherished by her loving family and others who knew her.

On Saturday, November 20, 2021, God called his Servant - Mary Lee Fleming Taylor- to rest from her labor at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

Mary Lee leaves to cherish fond memories are her loving husband, Julius Taylor of Lake City, SC; one son, Kandeh Fleming of Columbia, SC; one daughter, Gina Taylor of Lake City, SC; two loving sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Fulmore of Lake City, SC and Earline (Abraham) McClary of Quinby, SC, two devoted brothers, Levern Fleming and Ernest (Gwendolyn) Fleming, both of Lake City, SC; one aunt, Adell Moore of New Haven, CT; seven additional sisters-in-law, Sadie Mae Fleming, Lucille Fleming, Mary Hicks, Italne Taylor and Eddie Mae Singletary of Lake City, SC, Annie White of Baltimore, MD, Dorothy Washington of Hemingway, SC; four brothers-in-law, Earl Taylor, Richard Taylor and Ed Taylor l of Lake City, SC; James Taylor of Hemingway, SC; six grandchildren, Jamir, Brice, Kaden, Kailon, Otis and Chris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that will cherish the memories of her.

Public viewing was held 2:00PM til 6:00PM Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church Street, Manning, SC.

Funeral services were held 2:00PM Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel. Rev. Tracy McFadden, Officiated; Rev. Don Robinson, Rev. Jerome McCray, Cynthia Walker and Kaisha McCrea, assisted. Burial will follow in the Howard Chapel AME Church Cemetery, 6338 Old Manning Road, New Zion, SC.

The family is received friends at her residence, 2045 Patty Road, Lake City, SC.
