Early Monday morning, November 22, 2021, Ellis answered the call of his Father. Ellis was born on December 26, 1943 to the late Mrs. Christell Conaway. He was educated in the Valdosta City School System. He was a proud alumni of Pinevale High School. Ellis was employed at South Georgia Medical Center for 32 years. He was a very loving and kind person. He had an infectious smile and always had a story to tell. He was a dutiful and dedicated member of Union Cathedral under the leadership of Bishop Wade S. McCrae.

He was preceded in death by his mother Christell Conaway; five brothers, Lorenzo, Otis, Jerry, Jimmy and Billy; two sisters, Johnnie Mae and Vermatine.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 30 years Beatrice McGhee; two sons, Ellis McGhee Jr. (Cherish) of Jacksonville, FL and Cedric Bauknight (Carla) of Valdosta GA; four daughters, Jacqueline Willis of Valdosta, GA, Cedrida Green of Washington, Tracelyn Thomas and Cheryl Hunt (Roberto) both of Valdosta, GA; 21 grandchildren; Raquel, Tracelyn, Cedric, Destini, Travis, Jr., Tamaya, Torri, Marcus, Danyale, Jacob, Jada, Jhordan, John, Nikki, Trenton, Evan, Madison, Matthew, Marlon, and Marvin; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Willie James Conaway (Pam), John Conaway (Lynn) both of Valdosta, GA and Joe Conaway of Detroit, MI; sisters, Annie Powell of Valdosta, GA; Denise Oliver, Jania Conaway Sanders both of Detroit, MI and Carolyn Conaway of Augusta, GA; brothers-in-law, Allen (Helen) Baker and Bernard (LaKarsha) Jackson both of Valdosta, GA; sister-in-law, Stephanie (Jerry) Williams of Valdosta, GA, Lamar and Eddie Jackson of St. Petersburg, FL and a host of other sorrowing cousins and friends,

Public viewing will be held on Friday, November 26 from 12:00 noon until 6:30 P. M.

Home going services for Deacon Ellis Daniel McGhee will be held on Saturday, November 27 at 2:00 P. M. at Union Cathedral Church with Bishop Wade S. McCrae, pastor, officiating.
