Obituary For Lucinda Mitchell

Mrs. Lucinda Mitchell, 72, of Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, November 21, 2021 in Columbus, GA.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Union Grove Baptist Church Marvyn, AL. Visitation will be Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. EST.

On March 29, 1949, the Lord blessed the earth with the existence of Lucinda Malone Mitchell affectionately known as “Doll”; to the late Jethro N. Malone, Sr. and Willow V. Malone. She peacefully entered eternity on November 21, 2021 at Columbus Hospice, Columbus, Georgia.

Lucinda was born in Phenix City, Alabama but raised in Tuskegee, Alabama. She was educated in the public school system until she transferred to the School for the Deaf and Blind in Talladega, Alabama from which she graduated. Later in life she met her late husband Charles Mitchell; to their union a daughter, Charissa Renee was born. During her adult life she lived in Talladega and Anniston, Alabama before relocating back to Phenix City where she remained until her death.

Lucinda accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She attended Players Chapel CME Church and later joined Faith Outreach Ministries. While living in Anniston, Lucinda volunteered at Norwood Elementary School. She enjoyed decorating, sewing, cooking and singing. Lucinda never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; late husband; sister, Mary Lois “Shane” Malone and Brother, Wilson “Freddie” Malone.

She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Charissa Renee (Joseph) Ferrell of Phenix City, Alabama; five grandchildren, DeMarte (Tay), Joseph (JJ), Charles, Brianna (Bree) and Hakeem Ferrell all of Phenix City, AL; three sisters, Willow (late Rev. Sylvester) Feagins, Viola Holland and Mollie McGhee all of Phenix City, AL; two brothers, Jethro Malone, Jr. and Jerry Malone both of Columbus, GA.; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Malone of Talladega, AL and Gloria Brown of South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, family and special friends and neighbors in Anniston.

Prayer go out to my family losing a family members is never easy but GOD seen my sister Lucinda(baby doll) Mitchell growing tired and took her struggle in his hand JESUS you are an almighty GOD she raise me after our mother couldn't thank you doll we love you and your always humorous ways so long until we meet again..you still have someone to pick on your sister and brother is with you now❤❤❤❤
