Obituary For Rachel A Stidom

Mrs. Rachel A. Stidom, 62 of, Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, November 21, 2021 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Elder James A. Lesesne, officiating.

We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of our beloved Rachel Ann Gable Lesesne Stidom. She was born April 12, 1959 in Williamsburg County to the late Lottie Mae Gamble and the late Ronsear ‘Buck’ Miller and raised by her late stepfather William ‘Hoot’ Manigult.

Mrs. Rachel was a graduate of Kingstree Senior High and attended Williamsburg Technical College as well as Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Mrs. Rachel Spent many years as the Housekeeping Supervisor at the Wave Rider and Palace Resorts where she employed many family members and introduced numerous people to the ocean and the many amusement parks there. Mrs. Rachel also spent many years as a Child Development Teacher, where she has nourished and inspired hundreds of children across many decades; including her own three children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Mrs. Rachel was a loving mother and wife. She has served in various church ministries where she has met lifelong friends while praising the name of Jesus. She was proceeded in death by her sister Maggie Miller and brother Troy Miller.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are: her husband Otha George Stidom of Phenix City, AL; her children E. Ron (Nessa) Lesesne of Simpsonville, SC, Melodie Thomas of Phenix City, AL, James C. Lesesne of Atlanta, GA, and Christopher Thomas of Savannah, GA; grandchildren Tamia Lesesne, Eric Chestnut, and Harmonie Thomas; her siblings Roslyn M. Rush-White of SC, Carolyn Bradley of NY, Cecil Pressley of SC, Patricia Miller of SC, Bernard Miller of NY, Eddie Gamble of SC, and Ernestine Gill of SC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
