Obituary For Rickey Carr

Rickey was born the fifth child to the late Mr. Willie Alex (Bill and Lucille (Sally) Carr on February 7, 1964.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove #1 M.B. Church, Kosciusko, MS. On his move to Horn Lake, MS he attended the Light House Church in Corinth, MS.

He was a member of the graduating class of 1982 of Thomastown Attendance Center where he was an outstanding quarterback. He loved his classmates like family. Especially Milton Dawson and Paul Luckett who were his brothers by another mother.

Rick was a joy to be around and loved everyone and always trying to fix everything.

In life, he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Linda Wilson to this union three children were born.

Many years later, he met Stephanie Warren who became the love of his life and they united on June 22, 2020. They were at their happiest until it came to a tragic end on November 16, 2021. Doing what he loved, operating Construction machinery for Colom Construction which he had done for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Alex and mother, Lucille, Carr.

He leaves to celebrate his homegoing a loving and devoted wife, Stephanie Carr; four sons: Rickie (Faith) Wilson, Derrick Carr, and Jeremy Carr all of Orlando, FL; Cameron Carr, Corinth, MS; one son that he raised as his own Quantavious Mayes, Corinth, MS three daughters: Zoey Carr, Shamiah Hooks, and Shabria Hooks all of Horn Lake, MS; and Harry (Alisha) Carr, Memphis, TN. Three sisters: Ruby (Herman) Pankey, Carthage, MS; Ellie (Rickie) McBride, Kosciusko, MS; and Earline (Jeffery) Brown, Thomastown, MS. nine grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
