Obituary For Mr. Sammy Thomas Walker

Mr. Sammy Thomas Walker was born on September 2, 1948, to the late Mrs. Christine Brown Walker and the late Mr. Samuel Thomas Walker in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He attended public school in the Upson County School System.

During his manhood, Sammy went to work as most men did during his time, He was blessed to obtain a job hauling asphalt as a truck driver with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He loved his work, driving his truck, and talking about the work he performed. He was a faithful employee for over twenty-five years. He was the father of one daughter, Deidra Trice. During his leisure time, Sammy enjoyed fishing, eating, working on trucks and cars, having fun time with his family and friends, and sharing his experiences as a truck driver. He loved being around family.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Faye Walker, two sisters, Doris Ann West and Annie Grace Price; and one grandchild, Nabyis Trice. On Thursday, November 18, 2021, the Lord called Sammy home from labor to rest. He answered the call, and his spirit took flight and returned to the father.

Sammy leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Ms. Deidra Trice of Thomaston, GA; threes grandchildren, Kadeem Miller of Canton, GA, Vanaya Trice and Kashaad Trice both of Thomaston, GA; ten great-grandchildren also survived; one sister, Ms. Virginia Walker of Thomaston, GA; one brother, Mr. James Walker of Thomaston, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Willie Albert Price of Thomaston, GA; two devoted nephews, Mr. Chadrick (Nicole) Walker of Stockbridge, GA and Mr. Delain Walker of Jonesboro, GA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
