I remember Ruby as a young girl, she and her sister,Johnnie, took me to their high school with them. It was my first time riding on a school bus and going to a school. It must have been bring your young siblings to school week or something. As they did not have a young sibling at the time, they brought me the person they occasionally babysit. Ruby was the fun one with that smile and showing of that gold crown around her tooth that I wanted to get but my mom wouldn't let me. When Barbara was born, she told me she stole my name because she always loved it. I always thought of Barbara as my namesake because of it. There are more precious memories I could share if there were space. Barbara, Michael and Johnnie you have my sincere condolences.

Ruby was more like an Aunt to me than a cousin. I will never forget her laughter, her smile, her words of wisdom and no nonsense way of taking care of whatever needed to be done. Spending the night in Barbara and Judy's room are my best childhood memories. I know I wore out my welcome but Ruby never said no. It was understood that come Sunday morning, we all were going to church. She loved her Lord and her family. Our hearts are heavy but we know that she is in a better place and one day we will see her again. Demetra Spivey Morton

The Peters shared Ruby with us, as she was part of our family for over 30 years. She knew all our friends and family, and shared in our joys and sorrows. She was kind, considerate, a great listener and helped us to raise our son as if he were her own. We were all in shock last night, and so sad today. But, we know she was tired and suffering, and is in a better place now. Terri, Ron and Ian Johnson

My beloved Aunt Ruby was beyond an amazing Aunt. I truly adored our precious relationship and feel gratefully blessed for so many years of wonderful memories. I will forever cherish her warm smile, kind words, sweet laughter, and glowing spirit. My Aunt Ruby was an incredible role model,as she was one of the most pleasant individuals I have ever known. Aunt Ruby knew how to uncover "joy" even in the most challenging life circumstances & possessed a "winning" sense of humor that built others up. Aunt Ruby had a magnetic & inspiring personality which was authentic, strong, confident, and eloquent. Although, I am heartbroken because of her transition, I can take pleasure in knowing she has made it to her final destination. Aunt Ruby will forever be cherished, as she soars high with other HEAVENLY ANGELS & rest peacefully in the loving arms of Our Lord. Until we meet again... Karen Parks (Niece)

Words can't express the laughter we share while planning Bailey Johnson's Reunions. I will remember the smiles, chastisement, good times with old friends, and our fellowships at church. We love you but God loved you best...let the church say amen. And to the family Ann and I will continue to pray that when you think of this sweet lady, may God put joy in your hearts, smiles on your lips, and memories that make you laugh like nobody is watching.

Ruby was always and will be my favorite "Aunt T". As a young child, I always looked forward to visiting and spending the night with my cousins. She left me with many memories. I am glad to know she is at peace in heaven. Milton, Jr.
