Jackie Wesley Alexander was born June 28, 1953, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Charles Wesley and Retta Wesley. And so, God keeps His Word and returned as a thief in the night to peacefully transition her home. Jackie attended Jackson Public Schools, graduating with the Lanier High School Class of ‘71. She was very proud to be a part of the “833 Nation”. She attended Hinds Community College and went on to become a paraprofessional in her field. She worked as a paralegal with the Byrd and Associates Law Firm for over 20 plus years and later worked with The Smith Law Firm for many more. Finding the true facts of life, Jackie accepted Christ at a very early age, uniting with the Hyde Park Missionary Baptist Church and later becoming a forerunner of the First Hyde Park Missionary Baptist Church. She served as photographer and co-editor for the News and Media Ministry. She enjoyed traveling with her family and church family wherever the wheels turned. Jackie loved to sing—and if you’ve ever heard her sing, you’d know that she loved singing---and singing for the Lord. In 1989, Jackie married the love of her life—Willie “Frank” Alexander. However, their time together expands back much farther than that. Distant traveling or just a weekend sneak-a-way was always one of their favorites. One step-child, Juanita Alexander preceded her in death. Jackie was a very fun, loving jokester who embraced an enormous love and concern for family and friends. You could always hear her doting over her mother or her grands. On Thursday, November 25, 2021, just as the Lord promised, He came “like a thief in the night”. Without a fight or struggle, she surrendered to her Master’s call and received her wings. She now sings in the life-long awaited, Heavenly Choir. Jackie leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband of 32 Years, Willie “Frank” Alexander, of Jackson, MS; a loving mother, Retta Mae Wesley, of Jackson, MS; two daughters, Mary Lynn Hart, of Jackson, MS; Frankie (Christopher) Morris, of Jackson, MS; one step-son, Andre Alexander, of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Leslie Washington of Jackson, MS; Lynn (Michael) Griffin of Jackson, MS; one brother, Dexter (Juanita) Wesley of Jackson, MS; four grandchildren, Ykeisha McGee and Alex Hart, of Jackson, MS; Tynesha Hart of Moss Point, MS; Christopher “Cam” Morris of Jackson, MS; three great-grands, Kingston Hart, Kayden Hart and Aliyah Williams, all of Jackson, MS; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
