Obituary For Anna Jones

Mrs. Anna Jean Jones, daughter of the late Ed Thompson and Bertha Mae Durham-Rankin was born September 17, 1953, in Belzoni, Mississippi. She attended Attala County Public Schools. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Greater New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an usher, choir member, and a member of the missionary ministry. She was also a member of the Freedom Singers.

She was united in holy matrimony to Jerry Jones, on July 27, 1973. This union was blessed with three children.

As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. She quietly departed this life Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ella Mae Weatherby, and brother Eddie Will Thompson.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband Jerry Jones, her children: Ella Marie of Sallis, MS, Michelle Bailey of Durant, MS, Cassedra Booker of Jackson, MS; grandchildren: Heaven'lei Riddley, Tremone Bailey, Antwan Bailey, Jasmine Bailey, Colby Bailey, Rickeal Bailey; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Sammie Thompson of Durant, MS, sisters: Ruby Thompson of Kosciusko, MS, Barbara Johnson of Durant, MS; brother in law Curtis Jones; sister in law Lee Thelma Jones; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A future son in law San Waun Brown.

PLACE OF SERVICE: JERICHO BAPTIST CHURCH.

DATE OF SERVICE: SATURDAY DECEMBER 4, 2021 @ 11:00 A.M.

INTERMENT: PARKWAY CEMETERY.
