Obituary For Lakisha McDuffie Smith

Lakisha Shontell McDuffie-Smith, daughter of Antoinette Benbow McDuffie and the late John Henry McDuffie was born June 23, 1975. She received her formal education at Manning High School in Manning, South Carolina and graduated with the class of 1993. She also attended college at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Lakisha Shontell was joined in holy matrimony to Kenneth Smith. Lakisha Shontell exchanged her cross for a crown on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Those left to share her legacy of love are: her husband, Kenneth Smith, Portmouth, VA; one son, James C. Williams; one daughter, Lauren J. Williams; seven aunts, Johnnie Miller, Cynthia (Jonathan) Burgess, Sharon Cauley, Yolanda (Bill) Eisenhart. Eva M. Spry, Beulah Gillard and Hennie M. McDuffie; four uncles, James Benbow, Bishop (Patricia) McDuffie, Nathaniel McDuffie and Lenon (Johnnie Kat) McDuffie; a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held 11:00AM Monday, December 6, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church Street, Manning, SC. Evangelist Sharon Mellette, officiated; Rev. Delbert H. Singleton, Sr. and Rev. Delaney K. Frierson, assisted.
