Obituary For Cornelius Roshawn Carithers

The funeral services for the late Mr. Cornelius Carithers of Ashburn, Georgia who departed this life on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 12:00 Noon from the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia, with the Reverend Ellias Nedd, Officiating, and the Pastor, Reverend Samuel Gaines, delivering the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mr. Cornelius Roshawn Carithers was born February 10, 1971, in Ashburn, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. Lee and Mary Carithers. Cornelius was educated in the Turner County Public School System and graduated from Turner County High School in the awesome year of 1990. He was voted Prom King by his classmates and Senior Superlative by his teachers. He went on to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice in Tifton, Georgia.

Cornelius gave his life to Christ at an early age at New Mt. Zion First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W. C. Whitfield. Cornelius has been a devoted member of Fidelity Lodge #119, Ashburn, Georgia. On December 4, 2021, our beloved father, son, brother, and uncle departed this life peacefully at home in Ashburn, GA. His grandparents, Ida Mae Hobbs Bolden, James Bolden, Willie Mae Carithers, Vinson Carithers, and his brother Cedric Carithers, have all proceeded him in death.

Cornelius leaves to mourn his passing his two loving daughters, Sherkeial Carithers, Mia Carithers; his parents, Lee & Mary Carithers; his brothers, Andre (Dinitia) Carithers, Michael (Dondrell) Lockett, Demetris (Kanika) Ewing; a special aunt, Dorothy (Bobby) Williams; a special friend, Fred Currelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and sorrowing friends.

Just saw this, I am truly sorry for your loss. He and I used to work together and car pool together when we worked at Wilcox State Prison. He was a joy to be around and I really enjoyed our friendship together. I am sure he will be missed by all those he was close to.
