Obituary For Ethel Lenora Napier

Ethel Lenora Napier was born on March 21,1936 in Quitman, GA to the late Josh Strickland and the late Gertrude Williams Strickland. She was one of ten children.

Ethel was married to Rubert Napier for 62 loving years. She is the mother of two children: Xavier Napier of Lauderhill, Florida and DeAngela Napier of Locust Grove, Georgia. She traveled the world as a military wife living in 14 different locations in the United States and in Germany twice. She has worked as a secretary and a librarian but took the most pride in raising her two children. Ethel was a devoted believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She could often be heard humming or making a melody of praise.

She loved to help others and served as a teacher’s aid for 10 years in Bellevue, Nebraska. She also loved delivering meals to the elderly for many years. Ethel was known for her warm hugs and the willingness to listen to anyone in need. She also loved to sew, cook, decorate homes, and especially loved to go shopping. She is preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings; Mary Strickland Owens, Josh Strickland, Miller Strickland, Joseph Strickland, Mattie Strickland Halton, George Strickland, Frank Strickland, William Strickland.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her loving Husband Rubert Napier, Son Xavier Napier (Tanja), Daughter DeAngela Napier (Kevin Friesen), her brother JB Strickland, and a host of other nieces, nephews, god children, family and friends. Her legacy will live on through those that knew and loved her.

Home going service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 P. M. at Scott and Roberts Mortuary with Pastor Napier officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
