Mable was born on April 4, 1927, in Greensboro NC to the late Earl and Emma Carter. She married her beloved husband, Julius Fennell in 1949, and shared many happy years together. Mable and Julius raised Julienne Murray, and later she had the great privilege of being grandmother to Demetrius Dick.
Mable was a graduate of James Benson Dudley Senior High School and North Carolina A&T State University, She had a long and full career for over 30 years working for the Schenck's family and as an office manager at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Mable joined New Light Missionary Baptist Church in her youth at the early age of five (5). She was deeply involved in her community and church. She worked tirelessly for her church and was highly instrumental to the church1976 capital campaign as it relocated to its new home at 1105 Willow Road. She also faithfully served in the following ministries: childhood education, youth choir director, historian committee, deaconess, and missionary board. She worked tirelessly for years as the church comptroller. Mable directed countless weddings, and was another “mom” to all of her brides and grooms. Always upbeat, Mable had the sweet voice of an angel, incredible intellect, faith, and humor.
Mable leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory one grandson, Demetrius Dick and countless others who were touched by her forever love. She was preceded in death by husband, Julius Fennell; daughter, Julienne Murray, and one brother.

A Celebration of her life will be on Thursday, December 9,2021 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC 27401. Visitation begins at 11:30 am. The service follows at 12:00 pm.
Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, 235 Bingham St. Greensboro NC 27401.
