Ms. Estell Wilson Gaddis began her earthly journey on March 24, 1941, in Talladega County, Alabama to the union of Walter Wilson and Velma Leonard Wilson.

Ms. Gaddis was a lifelong member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. She attended school in Talladega county and was a graduate of R. R. Moton High School. Estell was employed with Avondale Mills in Sycamore. She decided it was time for a change after a number of years and took interest in Buffalo, New York where her aunt, Pauline Moon, lived. During her time in Buffalo, New York, she worshipped under the leadership of Antioch Baptist Church. After moving her family to Buffalo, New York, Estell maintained a career as a quality control specialist for Abbott Laboratories in Cheektowaga, New York. After retiring, Estell returned to Alabama to assist with caring for her mother and made her home in the Mardisville community. Estell loved nothing more than to partake in some good retail therapy. She also enjoyed maintaining a nice yard with beautiful flowers as long as snakes were not around. After the passing of her mother, Estell’s health began to fail so she returned to Buffalo so that she could receive care and be under the watchful eye of her children.

On the morning of December 3, 2021, Estell answered the Master’s call to begin her eternal journey. She was welcomed home by her daughter, Shereen Danielle Green; parents, Walter and Velma Leonard; and three sisters, Irene Taylor, Mary Leonard and Mildred Wilson.

Memories will live in the hearts of her five children, Antia Vanessa Gaddis and Antoinette Ruth (Tony) Pickens, Billy Rodney Gaddis of Pennsylvania, Rita Charmaine Chandler of Atlanta, Georgia and Ronnetta Lavette Gaddis of Buffalo, New York; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; four siblings, Paul (Nellie) Wilson of Sylacauga, Alabama, Fred Wilson of Anniston, Alabama, Easter Player and Barbara Gunter of Montgomery, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
