Barbara Chisholm, 72, of Second St., Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Born in Martinsville, VA on August 2, 1949, she was the daughter of Virginia Hairston Roberts, and the late Alvah Roberts.

In addition to her father, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Chisholm.

Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Albert Harris High School. She retired as a Domestic Worker for Mrs. Mary Lewis Johnston after many years of service.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory one son, Walter Chisholm (Paula Tilley) of Waldorf, MD; one daughter, Neicy Chisholm of Martinsville, VA; her mother, Virginia Hairston Roberts of Martinsville, VA; two sisters, Priscilla Roberts and Delois Roberts both of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Billy Roberts of Martinsville, VA; three grandchildren, Wilsyn Chisholm of Waldorf, MD, Ne'Airra Chisholm and MaKayla Chisholm both of Martinsville, VA; devoted friend, Loretta Staples of Annapolis, MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 12 noon at Carver Memorial Gardens with Pastor Lisa Little, Eulogist. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. All other times the family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Virginia Roberts, 902 Banks Road, Martinsville, VA.
