“Miss Cookie”, as she was affectionately called, received her education at Manning Training School in Manning, South Carolina.
In her youth, she accepted Christ and became a lifelong member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and a member of the choir.
She was a lifelong resident of Clarendon County and was employed at several places such as Jack Witherspoon Farms, TA Travel Center and Laurence Manning, Academy.
“Miss Cookie” was a very hardworking, loving, caring and kind person. She has touched many, loved her crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and Steve Harvey.
On Monday, December 13, 2021 at approximately 4:30 pm, Mary Alice “Cookie” Epps Pack, departed this earthly life at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children, Toni Epps and Catherlen Durant both of Manning, SC and Russell (Chykoa) Pack of Chesterton, IN; four sisters, Mary L. James, Sumter, SC, Geraldine Covington, Raleigh, NC, Beulah Mae Gills and Naomi Waters both of Manning, SC; three brothers, Moses McFadden, Norwalk, CT, Minister Bennie (Diane) Epps, Jr., Manning, SC, Leroy Epps, Killeen, TX; nine grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing was held from 4:00PM til 6:00 PM Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church Street, Manning, SC.
Funeral services were held 12:00 Noon, Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 North Church St., Manning, SC. Rev. Northern Miller, Officiated; Rev. Bennie McCants, Minister Sylvia Whitaker, Minister Bennie Epps, Jr. and Sis. Courtney Evans Holliday, assisted.
The family received friends from 4:00PM til 7 :00PM at the home of her daughter, Catherlen Pack Durant, 101 S. Boundary Street, Manning, SC.
