of Birmingham, passed away Nov. 21, 2021. Homegoing celebration will be held 11AM Sat. Nov. 27, 2021 at St. Mark C.M.E. Church with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1PM-6PM Fri. Nov. 26, 2021 at Bushelon.

To the Patton Family: We are truly sorry to hear about the recent passing of Alberta Patton. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends during this time of great sadness. Now is the time to be on the receiving end of getting great love and comfort from the many family members and friends. I know that all will be there for you with strong support. We must also remember that God will also be there for us. As the scriptures clearly reveal, God is a God of tender mercy and comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) On this day, please take note of this loving comfort that God shares with all who are grieving at heart today. So, directing your attention to the scriptures, here is this loving promise from God. The promise is recorded at John 5:28-29. In this comforting promise, God tells us that He would soon cause a calling to go forth to those in the grave to stand up in life again. Oh, what a grand time period this will prove to be, as we witness with our own eyes our loved ones standing up in life again. This arrangement will be possible because God is the source of life for all things. (Psalm 36:9) This promise is more than some mere empty words. This promise serves as a personal guarantee from God that the restoring of life will surely take place. So, to help all to develop strong faith in this promise, God has preserved nine accounts in the Bible that speaks about the grand arrangement so to take place earth wide. Here is just one such example that is recorded at Acts 9:36-42. I hope that all will get a chance to see how these verses apply to Alberta, and a great host of others who await their personal awakening from the deep sleep of death. We close by encouraging all to please keep this promise of God near your hearts at all times. Remember that when God makes a promise, it becomes reality. For it is impossible for God to lie. (Titus 1:2)
