Obituary For Andrew "Andy" Moses, Jr.

Andrew Lee Moses Jr., affectionately known as Andy, made his transition to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Andy was born in Gastonia, North Carolina to Marjorie Carter Moses and the late Andrew Lee Moses, Sr.

Andy was educated in Gaston County Schools. He attended CF Gingles Elementary, William C. Friday; where he was President of the student government, and graduated from North Gaston High School where he played football. Andy also attended Gaston College.

Andy is a Veteran of the United States Army, having served seven years.

Andy’s faith journey began at Humphrey’s Chapel AME Zion Church. Andy served as Jr. Usher, Superintendent of Sunday School, Steward, and was a member of the choir, his favorite!!!! At Humphrey’s Chapel, he played the bass guitar. Andrew was a member of the Mount Pleasant Men's Choir of Belmont, North Carolina. Andy moved his membership to St. Stephens AME Zion Church where he sang on the choir.

Andy loved playing the bass guitar, fishing, singing, and he really loved being around family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his mother: Marjorie Carter Moses, son: Brandon Roberts, sister: Sandy Lopez (Abraham); brothers: Chris Moses, Warren Moses, (Tonjua), and Prince Moses; nieces: Brittany Watson and Sarah Ryden (Ryan); nephews: Joseph Paul, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Prince, Jr.; great nieces: Sophia Grace and Alexandria Renee’; great nephews: Jacob David, Miguel and Eli; special friend: Patricia Sims and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. Stephens AME Zion Church at 11:00 a.m. There will be no viewing nor visitation.

Interment will be Tuesday; December 21, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.

Masks are required.
