Obituary For Jimmie Davis

Mr. Jimmie Lee “J.D.” Davis, 66, of Mooresboro, NC departed this life on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born on May 18, 1955 in Gaffney, SC to the late Caldwell and Mirtis Davis.

Jimmie was formerly employed with Gardner Webb College for two years before joining Cone Mills where he was employed for 34 years serving 26 years with Perfect Attendance.

Jimmie was a member of Suck Creek Baptist Church in Gaffney, SC. He enjoyed singing and going to gospel singing events. He also enjoyed being around people. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and his entire family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Marie Freeman (Jerry), Shelby Jean Davis Hall and Nancy Davis; two sisters-in-law, Debra Bristol and Elaine Davis and one additional brother-in-law, Harold McKinney.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his wife of 48 years, Jane Paulette Hall Davis; two sons, Jimmie Tyronne Davis and wife Christena Davis of Shelby, NC and Antronne Lee Davis of Mooresboro, NC; two brothers, Sonny Bristol of Boiling Springs, NC and Johnny Davis of Shelby, NC; three sisters, Sandra Washburn (James) of Spindale, NC, Margaret McKinney of Boiling Springs, NC and Macy Hickman (Randy, Sr.) of Mooresboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Kayleia, Jimmie Jr., Kira, Aryanna, Antronne, II, Jeremiah, Aaliyah and Elijah Davis; two great-grandchildren, Antonio and Fisher Davis; a brother-in-law, Willie Preston Hall of Mooresboro; a sister-in-law, Deborah Watkins (John) of Mooresboro; special friend, Gary Horn and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Davis will be held on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel at 12 PM. Masks are required. Mr. Davis may be viewed from 10 AM until 12 PM.
