Obituary For Mr. Edmond "Eddie" McAllister Flakes II

Youngstown A homegoing celebration in honor of Mr. Edmond McAllister Flakes II, 51, will be held Saturday December 18, 2021 at 1pm at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave Youngstown, OH. Mr. Edmond known to his family and friends as "Eddie" entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Eddie, son of Edmond Flakes, Sr. and the late Ernestine Alexander, was born June 20, 1970 in Youngstown, Ohio. He attended South High School and received an Associates of Science in Business Management from Everest University. He married the love of his life, Carolyn (Brown) Flakes, December 12, 1992. Eddie was formerly employed at Coates Car Care and TA Truck Service of Girard, Ohio as Manager of the Repair and Maintenance Department. In his spare time, Eddie loved traveling, spending time with his family (especially his nieces and nephews), and music. Eddie was also an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan. Besides his loving wife of 29 years, Eddie leaves to cherish his precious memory his father, Edmond (Gwendolyn) Flakes, Sr. of Youngstown, Ohio; 2 sons, Edmond (Jessica) Flakes, III of Woodland Hills, California and Brandon Burley of New Castle, PA; granddaughter, Michaela, and grandson, Malachi of Woodland Hills, California; Siblings, Sonya (Kevin) Bennett, Angela (David) Sanders, and Carson Flakes of Austintown, Ohio, and Stephanie (Jermaine) Phillips of Hubbard, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents, Ernest and Althanet Alexander, Oscar and Edna Flakes; great-grandparents, Willie and Lola Mae Coleman; an aunt, Kimberly Alexander, and a dear cousin, Anthony Brock. The family will receive friends Saturday December 18, 2021 from 12pm-1pm at the Jaylex Event Center.
