We celebrate the life of S. Yvonne McCall and the legacy she leaves. She touched the lives of many while serving as a professional educator at various levels and locations. She was a visionary whose educational mission matched her values of striving for excellence. I was fortunate to work with Yvonne at two Fairfax County Public elementary schools. Over a span of thirty plus years, she became more than a colleague, mentor, and role model. She became a loyal and supportive friend forever. I am rich beyond measure because of her "Purple Magic." May her family be comforted to know that Yvonne was admired and loved by others who care. Sincere Condolences, Camille Brown

Again, please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. We have had the pleasure of being in Mrs. McCall's presents while she told stories. Stories that had jaws and stomachs hurting because we were constantly laughing. She will be truly missed. Love the Ervins

Yvonne McCall was an excellent Principal of Glen Forest Elementary School in the 1980's. She was my first Principal when I came to Fairfax County from the DC Public Schools in 1980. She mentored many teachers and always had an encouraging word. Also, she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and my Soror. We remained friends for many years. Pat Ford McIntosh Neal

Yvonne and Toni came to a coffee I hosted for THIS for Diplomats to teach us how to do the Electric Slide. I asked the group before our gathering if they would like my neighbor, a concert pianist from Georgetown University to give us a recital or would they like to learn how to do the Electric Slide taught by my friends Toni and her mother Yvonne. It was a unanimous vote that they wanted to learn the Electric Slide. So there we were about thirty of us representing at least ten different countries learning the Electric Slide. Yvonne's smile and enthusiasm were infectious and had us all laughing and moving to the beat or at least moving to our own beat. When Toni and I were first friends I came over to her house with my two girls, ages two and five. Yvonne immediately called to warn Toni that some white children were playing in her backyard.
