Mrs. Janice Washington Patterson, 68, of Mimosa Drive, Louisville GA transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at Greater St. Matthew A.M.E. Church Yard with mask and social distancing. Interment will be held in the Spring Bethel Benevolent Society Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Mrs. Patterson was a native of Jefferson County, born to Mrs Thelma Washington Combs. She was raised in a loving and Christian home with her mother and her stepfather, the late, Casper Combs II, along with her siblings. After the passing of her mother, her grandmother Carter (Baby Doll) Washington answered the call to provide a loving home for Janice and her siblings. At an early age she joined the Greater Saint Matthew A.M.E. Church and through the years served on the Usher Board, Y.P.D. Director, youth choir and was currently serving as church secretary. She was a 1971 graduate of Louisville High School and later graduated from with a degree in Administration from Augusta Technical School. For several years “Jan” worked at Forstmann and Company and later Jefferson County Sheriff Department but was currently working at FACES in Louisville. Janice was united in holy Matrimony to Mr. Clarence Patterson on February 14, 1998. When she transitioned on Sunday, she joined loved ones already gone before her: namely mother and stepfather, Thelma Washington and Casper Combs II, her grandmother Carter “Baby Doll” Washington, and her three siblings, Dennis Combs, Sandra Kay Combs and Anna Margaret Brown Davis. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her husband, Clarence Patterson, Louisville, GA: stepchildren, Corey (Keshia) Patterson, Wrens, GA, Clarence (Belinda) Patterson, III, Hephzibah, GA, Mae Faye Ta, Thomson, GA: She will always be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Brenda W. Jones, Augusta, GA, Samuel Washington, Atlanta, GA, Thelma D. Washington, New York, Glen Roy Washington, Louisville, GA, Casper (Sherry) Combs III, Louisville, GA. Patricia C. Gamble, Augusta, GA, Catherine (David) Henderson. She will also be remembered by several nephews and nieces that she raised as her own: James Davis of Louisville, GA; Latricia Burley (Preston) of Charlotte, NC; Tara Combs of Macon, GA; Dr. Delores Dotson-Robnett (Timothy) of St. Louis, Missouri; Joe Jones, Jr. of Augusta, GA; Tory Combs (Kita) of Louisville, GA; Jiel Combs of Macon, GA and Kayla Washington of Atlanta, GA : her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Baker, North Augusta, S.C., Eva Patterson, Fayetteville, N.C., Christine Patterson, Wrens, GA; Aunts: Catherine “Sister” Washington, Deola Washington and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
