Obituary For James Monroe Price, Sr.

MR. JAMES MONROE PRICE, SR. - AGE 81, Of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021. He was born February 17, 1940 to the late George Mace Price and Roberta Drew Price in East Ridge, Tennessee. He was preceded by his wife of fifty years, Norma Jean Jones Price, two brothers, Clarence Joe Price, Sr., George Mack Price, and sister, Agnes Alberta Hale. He was formerly employed by the Chattanooga Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff Department. He worked part time for Jones Printing Company, and managed and operated A and J Flower Shop. He managed the Red Food grocery store now known as Food City. Monroe retired from the City of Chattanooga Public works after 40 plus year of service. He was a member Basilica Of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors are his two sons, James Monroe (Avious) Price, Jr., Jay Ivan (Angela) Price; daughter, LaFonda Faye (Norman) Duckett of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brother, Stephen Drew Price; sisters-in-law, Tardy Faye (Bernard) King, Wanda Jones; brother-in-law, Spencer (Brenda) Jones; grandchildren, Kirsten (William) Andrews, James Monroe Price, III, Ashley Price, Jala Price, Kennedy Price, Alexis Price; two great grandchildren, Will Andrews, Sophia Andrews, all of Chattanooga; special nephew, Clarence (Merry ) Price; special nieces, Karla Wright, Beverly Jackson, Johnnie Lefleur; special friends, Annie Sanders, Norma Jean Hughley, Valerie and Eddie Mills; other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Graveside Service and Interment will be on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 2:00 P. M. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, One Mount Olive Drive, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37412. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
