Obituary For Joe Samuel White

A memorial service for Mr. Joe Samuel White of Talladega, 67, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Reverend A. G. McKinney will deliver the eulogy. There will not be a visitation for Mr. White. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations are made to the Willie and Betty Farrior Foundation Scholarship Fund.

Joe Samuel White was born October 13, 1954, to the union of the late Samuel D. and Earnestine Keith White in Talladega, AL. He passed away in his home on December 29, 2021. He was a graduate of Talladega High School in the class of 1974. He attended Birmingham Southern Junior College and Gadsden State Junior College.

Joe utilized his athletic knowledge of the Talladega City League’s football and basketball as an assistant coach. His employment years included Wehadkee Yarn Mill, Mid-America Yarn Mill, Image Yarn Mill, Daniel’s Construction and Ted’s Market. Joe enjoyed travelling. He visited Alaska, California, Tennessee, Wyoming, Utah, Kansas, Florida, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia, just to name a few.

He was united in with the Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and attended as his health permitted.

Joe’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Mrs. Mary Louise Farrior White; five step-children, Col. (Retired) Cedrick A. (Cassandra) Farrior, Huntsville, AL, Tracy (Sam) Chapman, Talladega, AL, Stephen (Juanita) Farrior, Lincoln, AL, Hakeem Rasheed, Montgomery, AL and Mitchell Andre (Carla) Hubbard, Talladega, AL; two sisters, Beverly Spencer and Nina (Anthony) Darden, Talladega, AL; two brothers, Robert (Virginia) White, Talladega, AL and Tyrone White; seven sisters-in-law, Barbara Pearson, Talladega, AL, Sandra Gail McNeal, Talladega, AL, Betty (Earl) White, Gadsden, AL, Gloria Jean (Antonio) Graham, Talladega, AL, Maria Farrior, Talladega, AL, Janice (Willie) Ousley, Talladega, AL and Madeline (Tyrone) Scott, Huntsville, AL, one uncle, Walter Prather, Petersburg, VA; four aunts, Gladys Scott, Montgomery, AL, Ruth (Billy Joe) Morgan, Brooklyn, NY, Helen Prather, Detroit, MI and Jean Keith, Los Robles, CA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
