Obituary For Mr. Alton Jermaine Hair, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Alton Jermaine Hair, Jr., 19, of 3468 Kennerly Road, Orangeburg, will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, January 3, 2022, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, with interment to follow in the St. Stephens United Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Kenneth Carter is officiating.

Alton Jermaine Hair, Jr., affectionately called AJ, was born September 13, 2002, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. AJ departed this life on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

AJ was known for his beautiful smile, warm heart, and the consistent love and care shown to family and friends. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, where he served on the children’s choir. AJ attended Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in Orangeburg where he was eager to cross the stage with the class of 2022. In addition to his studies, he was employed by Pizza Hut and Ambusure Transportation. AJ was a dedicated employee to Ambusure Transportation. He was punctual, always available to work on his off days, and enjoyed safely transporting patients to and from their appointments.

AJ played basketball for Orangeburg City, AAU, Clark Middle School, as well as the Junior Varsity team of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. He had a love for music and had dreams of pursuing a career as a rap artist. In order to manifest his dreams into reality, AJ practiced daily and even had a provisional studio set up in his bedroom. In addition to becoming an entertainer, AJ was focused on branding an online clothing store affectionally named NTT (Never Think Twice).

AJ was proceeded in death by step grandparents: Debra Frederick and Eddie Lee Charley; as well as an aunt, Saneakia Greene.

His fond memories and witty personality will forever be cherished by his loving mother, Roberta Green of Orangeburg, SC; his loving father, Alton Hair, Sr. of Gaston, SC; an instrumental masculine influence, Charles Fogle of Columbia, SC; three brothers: Jashawn Green and Devin Green both of Orangeburg, SC and Keyon Hair of Columbia, SC; three sisters: Deaveon Green and Troziyah Taylor both of Orangeburg, SC and Kha`Liyah Hair of Gaston, SC; maternal grandparents: Meemaw, Robin (Curtis) Williams of Piedmont, SC and Robert (Monique) Green of Orangeburg, SC; paternal grandparents: Annette Charley of Detroit, Michigan and Theodore Frederick of St. Matthews, SC; three special aunts: Shanekqua Wade, Shana Boneparte (Tyrone) and Acquanett Hair all of Orangeburg, SC; four additional aunts: Tywasha (Marcus) Jeffcoat of St. Matthews, SC, Amanda Hair, April Hair and Latesie Charley all of Detroit, MI; four uncles: Rondell (Trina) Wade, Demetric Greene, Travis Frederick, and Devon Frederick all of Orangeburg, SC; two inspirational paragons: Datran Larkin and Quentin Moorer of Orangeburg, SC; eleven special cousins: Quamaine Green, J’Lony Wade, Tyreon Boneparte, Ja’Zaria Wade, Shanayah Boneparte, Kardel Larkin, Kristian Wade, Kori Green, Kamar Thomas, Carlos Gaines, and TJ Davis all of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of other aunts, uncles, relatives and special friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Family may call the residence of his mother, Ms. Roberta Green, 3468 Kennerly Road, Orangeburg between the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg, SC.
