James C. "Skimpy" Schoolfield, Jr., 58, of Wilmore Dr., Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Martinsville Health & Rehab. He was born in Virginia on December 26, 1963, the son of James C. Schoolfield, Sr., and Jincy Woods Schoolfield.

James leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Florence Martin Schoolfield of Danville, VA: one son, Calvin (Erica) Schoolfield of Danville, VA: one daughter, Natasha Schoolfield of Danville, VA: two sisters, Jeanine Schoolfield, and Janice Schoolfield both of Martinsville, VA: one brother, Jeffrey (Chanika) Schoolfield of Martinsville, VA: three grandchildren, Jazmine Barrera, Kamryn Schoolfield, and Alaiya Schoolfield: and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 11 a.m. the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Price Family Cemetery, Soapstone Road, Ridgeway, VA. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. the family will be receiving friends at the home of his parents, 145 Wilmore Dr., Martinsville, VA, and at the home of his wife, 134 Lowell St., Danville, VA.
