Obituary For Sonia Denise Murray Lundy

Sonia Denise Murray Lundy was born to Sip Murray, Jr. and Lee Wyche Murray on March 10, 1967 in Tallahassee Florida.

Sonia was raised in Fort Pierce, Florida and received her education in the public schools of St. Lucie County. She was a graduate of Fort Pierce Central High School “Class of 1985.” After high school she spent time working in retail at J Byron’s and Sears. Sonia continued her education in Food Service and Safety at Indian River State College (formerly Indian River Community College). She completed her program in 1990 and started her career with the St. Lucie County School Board.

In 2014, Sonia met and fell in love with Cedric, the love of her life. They were wed in August of 2015. Sonia is remembered as a woman full of love, laughter, and thrill. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, traveling with her husband, eating out, and pampering herself by getting her hair and nails done. But, most of all, she enjoyed shopping and spoiling her grand babies. Sonia was a sweet, quiet, and loving Deaconess at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL, who served humbly and generously under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Jonathan Ingram. Our beloved Sonia entered the Heavenly Gates on December 22, 2021 where she was reunited with her father, Sip Murray, Jr., her mother, Lee Wyche Murray, and her sister, Kimberly Murray. Sonia leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Cedric Lundy of Fort Pierce; brother, Reginald Murray of Tallahassee; sister, Roshanda James; daughters, Sha’Neir (Andrew) Durant of Fort Pierce, Latricia Houston of Orlando, Nikkeia (Dermoth) Cole of Columbus, IN; stepchildren, Cleandrea Lundy, Cedric Lundy, Jr., and Charles Lundy all of Fort Pierce; grand-daughters, Samara , Sage, Gianna, Semaj, and Alantae; grandsons, Nehemiah, Noah, Jermaine, and Jeremy; uncle, Jessie (Bernice) Wyche; aunts, Essie (Stafford) Fisher, Lillie (Phillip) Harvin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Cook, Alice Simpson, Ineca Ellis, Marcus Ellis, Andre Ellis, and Paul Lundy; and a heap of loving family and friends that will miss her dearly.

Funeral services for Sonia Denise Lundy will convene on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00pm.
