Margaret Ann Washington

Knoxville - Margaret A. Washington, age 60 of Knoxville, TN born March 14, 1961, to Virginia Lee Greenlee and William Wilder. She departed this life, Monday, December 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Margaret attended Knox County Schools and worked as a CNA at various health care institutions throughout Knox County. Margaret loved to cook and feed the hungry and never met a stranger. Margaret loved her Honey Bun and Dr. Pepper.

Margaret met and married the love of her life, Calvin Earl Washington who preceded her in death. Also, preceded in death by parents Virginia Greenlee and William Wilder; grandson, Victor Michael Harris, III, siblings, Brenda Wilder and James Wilder; aunts and uncle Madeline Newton and Herbert Greenlee, cousin; Janie Moody and best friend Kristy Tate.

Margaret's love and compassion for others continues through the legacy of her, devoted and loving daughter who was also her caregiver, Devona Kyle (Jabbar Johnson), loving son Deontae Washington; grandchildren: Mahala, Ma'Kynzee, and Ma'Laun Johnson; Calvin, Jr., Kha'Lahri, Keylynn, Kalmoni Washington; sister, Vivian (Robert) Holland; brother, Terry Wilder. Special niece who she reared as her daughter, JaMasha Pirtle, devoted nephews and niece; Amond Wilder, Dominic Holland, and Brittany Wilder, devoted friend, Gloria Smith; special God-Daughters, Erica Randolph and Lucresha Burris. Margaret had a host of great-nieces and nephews, family and friends too numerous to name.

Special thanks to University of Tennessee Hospice Team, Ashley McKinney and Chaplin Pastor Dexter Jordan for the special and loving care that you gave each time you came to the home.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with Apsotle Shel'don Hudson officiating.

The final resting place will immediately follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. A dove release will conclude in her honor.
