Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. EST Friday, January 7, 2022 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Thornton, officiating. Interment to follow at Bethel A.M.E Church Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 12-5 p.m. EST.
Justin Ormond Harper was born, December 26, 1986 to Mrs. Sadie Harper-Marshall in Columbus, Georgia. He attended Mother Mary Mission Catholic School, South Girard and was a graduate of the Central High School Class of 2005. After graduating from Central Justin attended Miles College in Birmingham, AL.
Justin was employed as an Instructional Aide with Healthcare Solutions in Columbus, Georgia. Justin confessed his faith in God in 1997 and united with the Bethel A.M.E. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Johnnie L. Walton. As a youth, Justin was an active member of the Junior Usher Board and Youth Choir.
He lived, loved life to the fullest and truly loved his mother, children, family and friends.
Justin never met a stranger, always brought a smile and much laughter to everyone he met, and left an impressionable spark to their life. He was such a vibrant person and known to many as Jay, Pretty, Pretty J and Slaw throughout the area.
He was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Gladys L. Harper, grandfather, Albert Harper and uncle, Lester Harper.
The memories of Justin’s joyful and fun loving spirit will be cherished by his parents, Sadie and Timothy Marshall of Phenix City, Alabama; his children, Amaya Frank of Phenix City, Alabama, Jalen Harper of Valley, Alabama and Carter Harper of Winder, Georgia; aunt, Katie (Robert B.) Lyles of Phenix City, Alabama; great-aunts, Nancy Spivey and Lillie Spivey of Phenix City, Alabama; five special cousins that were like siblings, Sonia Lyles, Markus Harper, Adrian (Tracy) Lyles, Kellen Harper and Velasquez Davis all of Phenix City, Alabama. Justin’s fun-loving demeanor will also be cherished by a host of special relatives and friends.
